Surviving, coping, and connecting - plus June 14 nationwide demonstrations

We've added several new pages responding to reader's suggestions and requests, focused on the related topics of taking care of yourself and connecting to others. But first, a reminder about a critical event coming up soon:
Plan now for your local June 14 demonstrations
Hundreds of "No kings" protests are planned across the country on June 14, at 12 PM Eastern Time/10 AM here in Mountain Time. The theme:

As organizers put it: "While Trump wastes millions on a military parade in DC, we're mobilizing everywhere else to show that organized people power is stronger than his authoritarian aspirations."
Here in Santa Fe, the demonstration is at 10 AM at the Roundhouse (the State Capitol).
To find an event near you anywhere in the country, go to: https://www.nokings.org/#map
Make your plan now:
- Put your local June 14 event in your calendar and commit to being there.
- Make your sign with the message you want to send.
- Show up on June 14. Bring your sign, if you have one.
- Send us pictures of your sign, your favorite signs you see, and any other images that inspire you. Mail them to us at foshereandnow@gmail.com.
Showing up is more important than ever. As Stanford political scientist Adam Bonica pointed out just last week:
"Trump and his allies’ attacks on judges are a dangerous signal, straight from the authoritarian playbook. Understanding this threat—and how nonviolent mass mobilization can offer an effective response... is crucial....Every authoritarian who successfully destroyed judicial independence did so because civil society failed to unite in time. The key difference? Whether people mobilized."

As many of you have shared with us, this stuff is really hard to deal with. It seems like every day, there is more bad news. If you want to keep fighting for justice and rights, you have to take care of yourself. Connecting with others is one way to help yourself, help them and grow your impact.
We added three resources pages to help you:
